Adopt A Cop

Chief Superintendent Ian Gruneberg and colleagues visit Blackmore Baptist Church 23rd September 2007
Blackmore Baptist Church are very pleased to be involved in a countrywide 'Adopt A Cop' initiative.
By praying regularly, both together as a church and individually at home, we hope to strengthen links between the police and the local community.
Director of Evangelism Martin Sparks said, "We will pray for the police, for this area and those who have been affected by crime, we will also pray for private issues like families and relationships. We believe in prayer and are here to support the police. Whether an individual officer has faith or not is not really our concern. We have got faith and we can use our faith to pray for them."
The scheme has been very well received by the officers based at Kelvedon Hatch Police House, they believe that the relationship between the police and the Church is important and will help restore hope and reduce crime in the neighbourhood.
